SAMFA Storm is a throwback to the city of St. Albert's original High School Football program that was created in 1986 by Larry Olexiuk & Bob Braymen. With the success and growth of this program 4 new High school teams took shape, Paul Kane Blues, Bellerose Bulldogs, SACHS Skyhawks & the Sturgeon Spirits, not to mention a lineage of coaches and players that are still involved today. CDMFA operates the U19 spring tackle league now, but SAMFA Storm and Head Coach Matt Ready, still have many of the original program's goals in mind. SAMFA Storm Football is a 12-a side football program in a 7-team league that runs from late February thru to early May, when high school spring camps begin. SAMFA Storm is a competitive team that focuses on development in a couple different ways; for first-time players regardless of grade it's an opportunity to get your feet wet prior to fall season. For grade 9s, it is a great way for players to prepare for the adjustments that come from transitioning from minor football to high school football. For all players, it is a great opportunity to have fun, get some exercise, hone your football skills, and work on chemistry prior to your joining your respective high school teams in the fall.Gameplay: 12-a side football
Season: Late February to early May, with no games on the April 12th and 13th weekend.
