St. Albert Minor Football Association (SAMFA) is a community league and has been a part of the St. Albert area for over 50 years. Our association and the sport of football continue to grow and we look forward to another successful season. The Executive, Coaches and Volunteers are here to provide a positive football experience for your child. We are committed to providing an experience that is safe, fosters community spirit, promotes physical exercise and most that instils a sense of teamwork.
SAMFA Mission Statement
SAMFA’s mission is “To provide boys and girls an opportunity to play football in a fun, fair and safe environment; encouraging the development of individual and team skills.” SAMFA institutes a fair play policy, and while some other organizations have restrictions on the number of players and teams, we have tried to ensure that all players have an opportunity to be part of the sport of football.
SAMFA’s goal is to provide an opportunity to play football in a fun, fair and safe environment, encouraging the development of individual and team skills.
SAMFA Philosophy
SAMFA amateur football teams participate in a competitive league as part of the Capital District Minor Football Association, and as Members of Football Alberta. We offer programs at the Novice, Atom, Peewee, and Bantam division levels. Our sport philosophy across our divisions is to promote progressive player skill development, increase knowledge of the game of football, support fair play and have fun. Our objectives include instilling in athletes with a sense of community, team, commitment, desire and respect.
Playing on a Team
For the Atom through U19 divisions SAMFA teams often carry between 12-40 players. Our focus is on fun and skill development, all players who practice are included in the games and play.
