Every team must have no less than one qualified Trainer at every SAMFA practice and game. This is a CDMFA league rule and is mandatory for most teams.
First aid supplies are provided by SAMFA.
For those interested in volunteering as a Trainer and who are prepared to be a part of the On-Field Staff, the Sports Medicine Council of Alberta offers courses in Athletic First Aid and Taping. SAMFA will reimburse volunteers who take the course(s). Receipts will be required.
Registration and course information can be found on the Sports Medicine Council of Alberta's website.
Trainers should be familiar with CDMFA policy https://cloud.rampinteractive.com/cdmfa/files/2023/2023%20Policies/safety%20personnel%20-%20approved%202023-03.pdf
In addition to the CDMFA certification requirements, athletic trainers are also required to have completed the "Rule of Two" online NCCP course.
You must also obtain a vulnerable sector criminal check. Please use the following form: Criminal Check Form
